Wow, it’s been a crazy couple of weeks for us!  We launched our first iPhone App and even after it was all said and done, the work doesn’t stop.

I’m happy to say that iHeartRate is doing well, hit the #6 on the Top Paid Health & Fitness Apps on the Canadian App Store! We’re not quite visible yet on the Top Apps for the US App Store but now that we’ve got a few excellent reviews, we’re hoping that when our next update hits, we’ll be able to get some more exposure.

So far, we’ve received one great review, but I can’t link to it yet because it’s not published yet.  Once it is, I’ll post it here.  In the meantime, we’re also under review from another major publication and can’t wait to hear what they think about iHeartRate as well!  If you’re interested in publishing a review for iHeartRate, let us know and I’ll scrounge up a promo code to send you.

As far as what’s next for us, well, we’ve already submitted our first update, iHeartRate 1.1 which includes metric measurement units. We wanted to get that in before we released it world wide to the other App Stores.  It should be approved hopefully before the end of this week.

We’re also almost ready to submit iHeartRate Lite, which is a VERY simplified version of iHeartRate.  Basically, it allows you to measure your heart rate via tapping to your pulse.  All the other features like Target HR, chronograph, calorie tracking, BMI and Body Fat % calculators are reserved for the full iHeartRate.  However, iHeartRate Lite is completely free so you can try before you buy!

Expect iHeartRate 1.2 to be submitted sometime next week.  We’re hoping to include some new skins and some minor, but useful, interface and feedback changes - both visual and with force feedback.  We’ll make all these new enhancements optional so if you don’t like them you can turn them off.  If you have any other suggestions on how we can improve iHeartRate, we’d love to hear them!

Also, we’ve begun brainstorming on our next app. It’s a secret for now but we are really excited about it and we can’t wait to begin working on it. Let’s just say that it’s something we know a lot about and we hold dear to our hearts.
