The final deployment…

October 16th, 2008 garry No comments

Doing a deployment for the new refresh of our portal at my day job.  Leaving here will be bittersweet simply because I’ve put the last four years of my development life into this portal.  But on the other hand, I’m super excited to be able to move on towards my own projects.

The Dev team here has shrunk but it still is a great team - and I’m not just saying that because I built it!  The people I’ve had a chance to work with are awesome and I know that I’m leaving the portal in very capable hands.

In any case, today will be the last time I’m here for a major release.  The next release I do will be all mine. :)

Endloop.ca site launched!

Well, it’s nothing really spectacular.  In fact, it’s kind of plain but that’s ok.  It’s a work in progress but at least I have a site that kind of explains what I’m doing. I’ll still be working to improve it and add some real content to it soon, especially the Projects page. I just wanted to get that out of the way first before I get started on my first app.

I can’t wait to get started and I’m PRETTY sure that at least one of the many ideas that Ken and I have, something’s got to stick.  Even in the impending difficult times ahead.

Worst. Timing. Ever.

I’ve made a huge mistake…

… is something I really hope I don’t end up saying in the near future.  With this entire economic crisis unfolding before us, I’m beginning to wonder if quitting my day job may not have been the smartest thing to do. Definitely stormy weather ahead.  Plus, my RRSP portfolio has dropped about 40% from the start of this year.

Why, oh why, did this have to all happen right AFTER I resigned. :S
